Yummy, Yummy, Yummy I’ve got Bugz in my Tummy!

Did you know that if your digestion is not healthy your immune system cannot work properly either? Do you often feel bloated or have belly cramps after eating? Perhaps you often have unpleasant gas and/or foul smelling poop? Are you unable to lose fat even when not eating? Do you have sugar cravings? It may be time to restore your healthy gut bacteria!

Why Prebiotics & Probiotics?

Prebiotics are food components that give the beneficial bacteria (i.e. probiotics) nourishment and thus a chance to grow and flourish. Our prebiotic levels can be naturally boosted by eating lots of fruit and vegetables, however if digestion is not optimal our ability to absorb these vital nutrients does not happen—in comes probiotics!

Consider that right from the moment we are born, the human body becomes a host for other microorganisms. This includes the beneficial bacteria in our intestinal tracts, simply called probiotics. These “friendly” bacteria are essential to healthy immune function and perform a number of important tasks including breaking down nutrients and keeping “harmful” bacteria in our gut in balance.

Disruptions to the microbiome are increasingly becoming associated with the prevalence of allergies, autoimmune diseases, metabolic disorders and neuropsychiatric disorders that affect today’s society.

Your gut is your second brain!

There's a very intimate connection between your gut and your brain starting all the way back to when you were just a few cells in the womb.

The nervous system is the very first system to develop in the body and it actually hardwires itself into your gut through what is known as the enteric nervous system (ENT).

The ENT plays a large role in relaying information to the brain about what’s happening in your gut, which helps control secretions and blood flow to allow you to properly digest and absorb your food.

Changes in our microbiome can influence the central nervous system and has been shown to even influence our behaviour. It has also been shown to activate the fight or flight response, which becomes a slippery slope of chronic stress and inflammation, which can continue to make matters worse leading you mental disorders like; depression, anxiety, bi-polar and many others.

We are born with a "bank account" of probiotics...

Probiotics are in limited supply. You are born with an "account" if you will, and they are very sensitive to acidic pH, heat and emotions.

So if you have a high acid diet (meat, dairy, alcohol, caffeine), eat mostly cooked or lifeless foods, have a strenuous lifestyle or poor digestion, you need to be replenish your gut bacteria.

Gut inflammation leads to food intolerance & moodiness...yikes!

"Inflammation is a natural response from the immune system to a threat, injury, or invader. It’s meant a short term response not a long term solution.

Inflammation that becomes chronic begins to damage our body, especially if the inflammation is throughout our body. Chronic inflammation is thought to be the main cause of many chronic diseases we face today.

Chronic inflammation in the gut can lead to a condition known as leaky gut, where the “pores” that line the gut get swollen and inflamed, allowing them to expand, letting large substances pass through unfiltered and undigested.

When these substances get through the gut directly into the bloodstream they create havoc throughout the body. This is thought to be one of the main factors behind autoimmune conditions and chronic inflammatory conditions.

Leaky gut has also been shown to cause a leaky brain. The blood vessels in the brain contain a protective barrier that insulates the brain from harmful substances that could be detrimental.

Research has shown that leaky guts release antibodies that also open up the blood-brain barrier, allowing harmful substances to cross directly into the brain, creating tremendous amounts of inflammation. [R] This can lead to brain fog, headaches, anxiety, fatigue, and dramaticaly reduce brain performance." -Dr. Brady Salcido, Medium

What are Belly Bugz?

Belly Bugz Are a Superculture AND a Superfood!

Superculture: Our probiotics have been stressed to withstand heat (can survive up to 55ºC), stressed to withstand cold (can survive down to freezing) and stressed to a number of chemicals. This means these probiotics can withstand what others cannot. For example, even after opening they can be kept in a cool dark place; making them perfect for travelling and easy storage.

Superfood: These probiotics are in their own food source, which means the good bacteria are alive and well laying dormant until activated when taken, then they multiply in the millions to assist in colonising the gut with essential probiotics. Yum Yum!Now, more research than ever substantiates the claim that the bacteria found in naturally fermented foods can strengthen the body’s immune system and ward off infection, not just in the intestines but body-wide.

When is the Best Time to Take Belly Bugz?

Have some first thing in the morning after a glass of water and last thing at night.

The morning one activates and the evening one assists you in going to bed with good nutrition and probiotics, to assist your body repairing whilst you sleep.

What Happens if I Take too Much?

This is an interesting question because if your body is toxic or if you are not in very good health you will notice a reaction to the foods immediately.

This is why we like first time users to start with 1/8th of a teaspoon until they adjust to having nutrition at the level available in Belly Bugz

For example, if you have not had a good diet for a long time, or if you have a compromised digestive system, you may not have been getting the goodness from food for years.

To have an over-consumption of nutrition after such a long time will have effects; such as loose stools, so best to always start small and work your way up.

Do Belly Bugz have a Use By Date?

We love being asked this question, because unlike most probiotic supplements, Belly Bugz has an extremely long life span.

Two years is posted on the label, but in truth they stay alive and vital for many years.

Some old stock was tested and found the bacteria count (probiotics) had virtually the same amount of good bacteria that they had when the product was made seven years prior.

That means the product was good for over seven years and what is more interesting is that the product had been sitting on a shelf in an office for all that time. So to answer this question, even product over its use by date is safe and beneficial to use.

Do I Have to Mix it in Water or Can I Mix it in Food?

In or on food, mixed in drinks or straight off a spoon.

Every day we need nutrition, good bacteria and especially the benefits from pre-digested food.

So take it how you like it everyday!
